The launch of this year’s Oakwood has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 24th at 7PM in the Briggs Library Archives (second floor of Briggs).

Unfortunately, due to extreme weather conditions the Great Plains Writers Conference has been canceled. As a result of this, the launch of the 2019 Oakwood has been canceled for this weekend as well.
We’re currently working on rescheduling the Oakwood launch but as of right now we’re not sure about the details.

Great Plains Writers Conference kicks off in exactly two weeks!
Friday, April 12th begins the conference with a kickoff keynote by Steven Wingate, as well as a book signing for his latest publication. Saturday, April 13th features several events such as a prose sharing workshop, a variety of speakers, and the launch of the 2019 edition of Oakwood! Sunday, April 14th closes the conference with poem sharing workshop and several more speakers.
We hope to see you all weekend at the Great Plains Writers Conference (and at our launch party too, of course).

Yesterday was the last day for submissions. Thank you to everyone who sent in their work! We will now be dedicating most of our time to reading all the submissions we’ve received. Acceptance and rejection emails should be going out around mid-March as it will take us some time to read everything we’ve received and cast our final votes.
We look forward to reading all your submissions!
The submission deadline for the 2019 edition of Oakwood Literary and Arts Journal has now been extended to January 31st!

We’ll be in the City County Building, Council Chambers (520 3rd St, Third Floor)

Come celebrate the launch of our 2018 issue Thursday, April 19 at the Daschle Archive Room on the second floor Briggs Library on the SDSU campus. The event will begin at 7:00pm and refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!
